Position Description Worked as ALT Assistant Language Teacher at elementary in Tokyo, Edogawa.
I had previous experience working as ALT at Tokyo Suginami and Saitama respectively.
At ES elementary school level, the job involves lesson planning, language target introduction, producing and performing vocabulary drill activities through games, songs, skits, role plays and other activities that facilitate the learning process and practice of adequate English. Edogawa ward requires ATL's to teach at Eigo Kenshu sessions (Japanese Home room teacher training) which are aimed to help Japanese Home Room implementing Eigo noto the ward selected text book. Training session to teach JHR Classroom English Vocabulary such as greetings, descriptive vocabulary and commands as well as Lesson plan preparation, and didactic activities.
At junior high school level, the Job consisted of supporting the school JET Japanese English teacher with lesson planning according to the Ministry of Education guidelines. This includes introducing grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation through exercises, correcting student's homework and tests. it also involves supporting students’ speech contests preparation for and participating school events.
